The sun may not have his hat on this weekend, but that’s no excuse for not getting out and enjoying the temperate weather.
If you’re after a bit of light-hearted exericise with an international and multi-ability crowd, why not try flinging around a frisbee with Iku!, the main Tokyo expat Ultimate Frisbee team.
The game is gathering momentum worldwide and there is even an emerging vernacular specific to the fields, with ‘bids’ and ‘hucks’ and battles to ’sky’ your opposite number all common in every game, be it a tourney match or just pick-up.
Iku! meet from around 2pm on Sundays beside the Tamagawa river. The nearest stations are Futago Shinchi (JR Dennen Toshi Line) or Kuji (JR Nambu Line) and all you need bring is yourself, some water and some sports clothing. Here’s a map to the fields from the stations, here is the team website and here is the Outdoor Japan forum for the team. See you out there!
