Nagatoro Rhine Kudari (Nagatoro Riverboating) Nagatoro Riverboating

Riverboating down the upper part of Arakawa River, you can enjoy the dynamic landscape and scenic beauty of Nagatoro.
The boat moves slowly along the river surrounded by beautiful scenery of various naturally created shapes such as Iwadatami (Tatami Rocks) and Red Rock Wall; greenery and seasonal flowers like wisteria.
The boatmen steer the traditional Japanese longboats using a single, long pole, and their unique guiding makes for an enjoyable trip on the river. In contrast to the peacefulness on the calm, meandering stream, the river has areas of swift currents where the boat swings wildly, creating an enjoyable and exciting ride.
3 courses are offered, with the entire course of 6km divided into two sections: Oyabana-bashi to Iwadatami, and Iwadatami to Takasago-bashi. The river trip is operated using Yakatabune (roofed boat) during the wintertime until the beginning of December.
