The Railway Museum's role is to research and store the legacy and materials of railways of Japan as well as from the around world; also it provides an education zone where visitors can learn about the principles and mechanisms of the railway.
At the museum, you can see Japan's first high-speed steam train and other valuable showpieces that tell the history of railways, allowing you to learn about the history and development of the railway system through the actual rolling stock cars displayed.
There is also a corner where visitors can actually touch and operate mini trains and train cab simulators.
In the exhibition zone, scenes of the railway in different eras are reproduced using actual railway parts based on materials and pictures of railways at that time.
There is a railway model diorama of approximately 200m2 in the experiencing zone; you can watch the distinct scenes of railway in Japan. Earphone guidance in English, Chinese, and Korean is also available.
