Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is a prominent shopping and amusement district in Tokyo along with Shinjuku and Shibuya. Mega department stores and boutiques are centered around the station, also numerous restaurants and adult-entertainment businesses stand side by side.
The downtown is extended east and west divided by the station. On the eastern side there is Seibu Department Store and Sunshine City, a landmark of Ikebukuro, and on Otome Road, a street for female Otaku (geeks), stands Animate Ikebukuro main store. On the west side, there is Tobu Department store and a variety of entertainment spots such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space are located.
If you go short way off the heart of downtown, you'll see Toden (metropolitan streetcar) a rarity nowadays. Also there is Zoshigaya Cemetery where many notables have been laid to rests.
