Animation writer and director Hayao Miyazaki’s Ghibli Museum, Mitaka is located in Tokyo's Inokashira Park.
The building consists of two levels above ground and one below, with five small permanent collection exhibition rooms. The second floor features a giant plush toy Catbus (a character from Miyazaki’s film “My Neighbor Totoro") that’s big enough for children to climb inside and play. Short animated films exclusive to the Museum and other videos can be viewed in a video room. The museum makes the visitors themselves the main characters, providing an experience through both sight and touch.
It feels just like being in one of Hayao Miyazaki's films!
