Sannomiya is located at the center of the City of Kobe, and is the terminal to almost all rail transportations, such as JR, two private lines, subway, and the Port liner which directly connects to the Kobe Airport.
Major department stores and hotels are adjacent to the area, and the Sannomiya Center Street is a mega-scale arcade which represents Kobe which is packed by many people at all times.
At north of the area, visitors will find sightseeing spots such as Kitano, where a variety of foreign resident buildings are scattered.
Underneath elevated rail tracks from JR Sannomiya Station to Motomachi and Kobe Station are Piazza Kobe and Motoko shopping arcades which feature shops with characters, such as established and exotic stores and outlets for young consumers.
At Nankinmachi China Town, which is located at south of Motomachi Station, visitors can enjoy authentic Chinese restaurants and casual sundry shops.
Further down south are the Meriken Park and the Port Tower, which is ideal for viewing.
