Sorakuen Garden Sorakuen Garden

Sorakuen Garden is the residential building and garden of the main residence of Taijiro Kodera, the father of famed former Kobe Mayor Kenkichi Kodera. The construction of the garden was launched around 1885, and was completed in 1911.
In 2005, the garden was designated as the national register of commemorative landmarks.
In the vast 20,000u garden, visitors can enjoy the pond circuit-style Japanese garden, a national landmark, as well as the former Kodera Family stable, an important cultural property, houseboat, and the former Hassam residence.
The garden, which offers different kinds of enjoyment in four seasons, has become people's resting place.
From mid-April to late May, flowers on about 4,000 Azalea trees bloom for viewing, concerts, tea ceremony, and other events.
Each year, Chrysanthemum Exhibition is held from late October to late November, where visitors can enjoy foliage at the same time.
