Tanba
Tamba, which is allocated at the central eastern part of Hyogo Prefecture, is crossed by the Japan Standard Time Meridian, which is 135 degrees east longitude.
Due to completion of the Maizuru Expressway and the double-track construction of JR Fukuchiyama Line, access to Tamba from the Hanshin area became convenient.
The southern part of the City of Tamba is deeply related to cities in the Hanshin urban belt, while the northern part of the city is still closely related to the adjacent Kyoto Prefecture.
Due to the sharp temperature difference between daytime and night, mist is prone to appear in the Tamba region from autumn to winter, thus earning the name of the Tamba Mist for mornings and evenings.
Since the region benefits from an ideal farming climate, it boasts Tamba matsutake, reputed to be the nation's best in terms of taste and fragrance, large and beautifully-colored Tamba chestnuts, and large Tamba black soybeans.
