There are several unique cities in the north part of Oita Prefecture.
Kunisaki City, located in Kunisaki Peninsula, has the Oita Airport. Mountain Buddhism, which was developed at the foot of Mt. Futago, located in the center of the peninsula, is drawing attention as a unique culture.
