Yakusugi Land
Yakusugi Land is a popular spot at an elevation of 1,000 meters above sea level where you can, without the need of any mountain gear, stroll around and enjoy viewing many valuable cedars more than 1,000 years old that grow naturally.
The walking trail that has been made for easy hiking offers four routes that take about 30 to 100 minutes.
Here, you will find Himeshara (Stewartia monadelpha) growing so beautifully which is indeed a rare sight anywhere else.
With a cedar forest so dense that it covers the sky above, Yakusugi Land is indeed a verdant area unique to Yakushima.
